Description

The Circle of Toubkal trek starts you off in Imlil and has you finish in Imlil, walking a circular route to finish where you began. Before you return to your starting point however, you will journey through the beautiful Azzaden Valley, the Assif N’Ouzzaden (the River of Azzaden), the Tamsoult Waterfall, the Aguelzim Pass, the Plain of El Houaz and of course, ascend the highest peak in North Africa, Mount Toubkal.


Itineraries

Before your transfer to Toubkal Mountain, you’ll trek from Marrakech to Imlil (1,780m), embarking on a 6-hour trek through Azzadene Valley, passing Tizi N’Mzik, Azib n’Tansoult, and Ighouliden waterfalls, staying overnight in the lipeney and mountain refuge at 3,000m. The next morning, climb to Toubkal Refuge via Aguelzim pass at 3,560m, enjoying lunch with stunning views. After summiting Mt Toubkal (4,167m), descend back to Imlil, ending with a total trek of 8-9 hours and a return to Marrakech around 5:00 pm.

Before your transfer to Toubkal Mountain you should first pass from Marrakech to Imlil (1,780m). You will set off an a 6 hour trek out of the Imlil Valley and into the Azzadene Valley. Along the way you will pass Tizi N’Mzik at 2,450m, the refuge at Azib n’Tansoult and the Ighouliden waterfalls. Over night in the lipeney and mountain refuge at 3,000m(or before at Azib n Tamsoult 2250 mt).

This morning involves a fairly stiff climb out of the Azzadene Valley to the Toubkal Refuge via the Aguelzim pass at 3,560m. Lunch will be taken with spectacular views over the Atlas Mountain Range. Overnight in the Toubkal Refuge 3207 mt where you’ll be sharing a bunk room with other trekkers tackling Toubkal early the next day or stay overnight in tent in dependence of the weather.

First of all, breakfast early this morning for climbing Mt Toubkal (4,167m Jebel Toubkal Peak) from where, clouds allowing, you’ll have wonderful views over the Atlas Range and the Sahara Desert.Finally ,you will then take a long way back down and passing the refuge so, taking the well-worn path back to Imlil.

This is a fairly long day with 8-9 hours of trekking involving 900m up then almost 2,500m back down to Imlil. You will normally be dropped off at around 5.00pm in Marrakech.
